The current size of Passport Photo requested by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is 40 x 30 mm. Iran uses the same sized photos for a number of documents including Birth Certificate, National IDs, and Military Service documents, however the number of photos required does change depending on what form is being submitted. We have had other sizes requested as well for other documents, so make sure to check your documents before coming in. Iranian Passport photos take about 10 minutes to prepare. Please do not wear excessive makeup or sunscreen. Head coverings must be worn by women, and the hair cannot be showing. Men may not wear neck-ties. For more information please consult the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Iranian Embassy in Paris.
Please Note: The Iranian eVisa system is currently only available in Farsi, and we do not know what size photo it requires. We have recently had requests for 2 x 2″ (51 x 51 mm) photos for submission to the U.S. Consulate in Canada, for Iranian Visas. Please consult your documentation before coming in so we know what size you need.
The Iranian Embassy in Canada was closed in 2012 when Canada severed diplomatic ties with Iran, at the same time that most other western nations severed ties with Iran. The Iranian Embassy in the U.S. has been closed since 1979. Therefore there is no Embassy to check current photo requirements with in Canada, the U.K., or the U.S. There is still an Iranian Embassy in Paris.
