The Schengen Visa Application requires two 45 x 35 mm photos, with the face spanning 32 – 36 mm. The background must be white or light colored. The Schengen Visa is accepted in most E.U. and E.F.T.A. countries, including: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. The Schengen Visa is also accepted in Greenland, Svalbard, and the Faroe Islands.
The passport photos of Schengen member states is generally the same as the Schengen Visa, however there is some variation. We have all the specification at our office. Some Schengen member states also issue national visas (Visa-D) which are used for stays of more than 90 days. Visa-D photos the same size as Schengen Visa photos.
Schengen Visa, Visa-D, and passport photos take about 10 minutes to prepare. Please do not wear excessive makeup or sunscreen. Religious head coverings are permitted, however the face must be clearly visible. Hair should be tied back so as not to obscure the face. Tinted glasses are not permitted. Also Note: Canadian Citizens and Permanent Citizens (non-Citizens) may also visit Saint Pierre et Miquelon for up to 90 days, without a Schengen Visa or a Canadian Passport, as long as they have a Canadian ID, such as provincial drivers license.
